Anderson Pass,  Olympic National Park,  Aug 12, 2008 - Aug 15, 2008     page 9 / 43

We continued up the trail and immediately encountered a very large section of downed trees. At first, the route did not look easily passable. With a little scouting and some effort, we worked our way around 25 downed trees. Once back on the trail, it was apparent that the trees had come down in a winter avalanche. The snow had crashed down the eastern slopes of Mt. Anderson, into the meadows, and well across the creek to the other side.
