My family also settled in Iowa. The history I have so far is that John Magruder Singleton b. September 01, 1775, d. February 22, 1842 married Mary Thompson on January 22, 1807. They had 3 sons and 3 daughters - Susan b. June 22, 1810, John Thomas b. April 20, 1812, Rebecca Lynn b 1813, Aaron T. b January 25, 1818, Mary Ann, b. May 13, 1822, and James R. b. June 22, 1828. All of the children were born in Paddytown, VA(WVA). After John M.'s death in 1842, the family's plantation was sold at auction and they began moving west, eventually settling in Iowa. Do any of the siblings names sould familiar?
