The clerk quickly cut the fruit, placed it in the blender, and then placed the blender into its base. "The bike is ready for riding," he said. The stationary bicycle was secured to a platform. When the bike was pedaled, the rear wheel turned a generator which powered the blender. Anyone wanting a smoothie was required to ride the bike to blend the drink! Of course everyone found this amusing. Perhaps this helps make the smoothie taste that much better!
