The trail once again began climbing up through the woods. About a half mile southeast, I crossed the National park boundary, marked by several signs and a benchmark. A bit further the trail passed through a sun-warmed meadow. Quickly I reached the ridge, where I caught glimpses of Mt. Rainier. Just another scant quarter mile took me to the top of Gobblers Knob.
