Gobblers Knob / Mt Beljica, Glacier View Wilderness Area, August 19, 2006 page 2 / 11
The trail began climbing immediately north of the lake. No more than a quarter mile later the junction to Mt. Beljica was passed. I continued north where the trail crested over a wooded pass then began losing elevation. The path remained in the woods where the temperature stayed cool even later in the afternoon. Goat lake was reached just 3 miles from the car. This long, narrow lake was surrounded by trees in a valley oriented north to south. The fish were active t here, and several anglers were fishing while I visited the area. I ate a bit of lunch, then continued up the hill.
