The trail turned westward from the bridge, then made a large gradual turn to the east. One eastbound, the trail became much drier for a mile or so. An occasional pine tree grew among the more common fir, hemlock, and spruce. After another mile, I began to hear another stream. I could see the roaring water down the hill. Eventually, the trail met this waterway, Donahue Creek. It was at this point I encountered snow over significant portions of the trail. I stopped and took a few more photos. The breeze near the creek was chilling. I didn't want to stay here long!
