I was advised by other hikers that there were several horsemen camped at Sheep Lake. I quickly located a place to camp for the night, not too close to the lake, nor the trail. From what I could tell, there was only one other party camped at the lake that evening, and they had no four-legged animals with them.
I was rather tired by now, despite the short 4-mile trek, for I had received a bee sting while roughly half way up the hill. My hand hurt a bit around the sting area, and was beginning to swell a little. I rested for about an hour, then decided to wander up the ridge north of the lake.
