Appleton Pass-Cat Lake Traverse, Olympic National Park, Sep 8, 2008 - Sep 12, 2008 page 51 / 71
I spent a half hour or more on the summit, enjoying the views in all directions. What a beautiful day to be on the top! I saw no goats on my return, but I did meet four people at the bottom of the goat trail. There were three young people (two men and one woman) just heading into the Bailey Range. There was also an older solo hiker who was doing a reconnaissance trip into the area.
I shared some of my experiences with the group then headed back down the trail. I met another gentleman exploring the area who I discovered lived only a couple miles from me, in my home town. Small world!
