From there the trail headed through a fabulous section of old growth woods. The forest floor was littered with large boulders, reminiscent of those I'd seen on the trail to Lake Constance. The rocks had obviously been there for a long time, being covered with moss. I imagined them falling from high up the hill during a raging storm, tumbling down and making a thunderous noise. Luckily for me, the current conditions were much more benign.
