Cameron Loop, Olympic National Park, Sep 11, 2006 - Sep 14, 2006 page 70 / 76
The trail was rather steep down to the junction with the Grand Pass trail. It continued down steeply another mile or so, before moderating. The trail passed beside the remains of an old shelter. Though I didn't see any signs, I surmised this to be part of the Lower Cameron Camp, where I had planned on staying on night four. One could certainly have camped within the boundary of the shelter, or perhaps there were more sites at the riverside, some 150 below. If so, it was not apparent. I snacked briefly on some trail mix and cheese.
