Along the Catwalk, one must continually assess the route. "Am I going the right way?" I kept asking myself. At one point I found myself on an exposed section of rock on the south side of the ridge. It had been a few years since I had crossed the rocky spine, but I didn't remember anything this airy. It seemed I had taken a wrong turn. Of course, having slipped, I was already rattled. Eventually, though, I ended up back on the ridgetop, in more comfortable surroundings.
Finally, after about an hour, I reached Boston Charlie's Camp. I sat next to the little brown tarn and enjoyed a break.
