We forded the river again, and joined a trail which would take us to Chicago Camp. Though this section of trail was not maintained, I expected that it would be easy to follow. It was, until we ran into a washout. We tried climbing over the washout, but the washout was too high. We surveyed the area and decided to climb over the log jam next to it, instead. This was awkward, but not terribly difficult. Once past the logjam, we returned to the faint way trail and soon found ourselves at the Happy Hollow camp. The shelter there was in surprisingly good condition considering it had been standing since the mid-1960s.
