A broken layer of clouds persisted throughout most of the day. The clouds bases began at 6000 feet or so, obscuring most of the nearby peaks. While perhaps not as picturesque as a clear blue sky, it still presented a great atmosphere. And the clouds kept the temperatures within reason for the day's hike.
