A rather pronounced "rut" had been made by previous climbers glissading, or sliding, down the hill. Tom cut a couple of leg holes in the bottom of a large garbage bag, which he then wore like a giant diaper. By doing so, he was able to glissade down the same track without totally soaking his pants.
