The goats were no problem. I continued my hike, returning to the car around 6:00pm.

There is a small camping area near the Dungeness River trailhead, but I chose to drive up the road and find a more secluded location. I found a small site right on the river large enough for a couple of tents. It was a bit larger than I needed, but would work fine. I made a couple of trips carrying my gear down from the car, which I parked about twenty feet above the campsite. I saw nobody else that evening, though I thought I heard a car or two drive by.
