33Bertha TRUNKEY gravestoneBertha TRUNKEY gravestone
Status: Located. Gravestone for George Trunkey and Bertha Flora Trunkey: “George Trunkey died Oct 28, 1886, aged 87 yrs; Bertha Flora Trunkey, died, Oct. 29, 1883, aged 6 yrs, 7 mo, 5 ds” . Note added 10/30/2004: Other sources indicate George died in 1893, though the tens digit on the year of death seems certainly to be an 8, the last digit may in fact be a 3 for a death date of Oct 28, 1883. Bogue and Allied Families, pg 422, record of tombstones in Giddings cemetery from 1932 indicates George’s death as Oct 28, 1883, age 37 yrs, 4 mos. This is first record where arithmetic agrees with birth date.
