    He emigrated from Norway in 1872 to Goodhue, then sent for his family two years later

    He emigrated form Norway in 1872 then sent for his family two years later. They lived in Goodhue until 1881 then moved to Trenton, Wisconsin, then Gillman then Belderville, where they died.

  1. 2.  Johannes CHRISTIANSEN was born Bef 29 May 1796, Balke, Vestre, Norway (son of Christian JOHANNESSEN and Johanne ERICKSDATTER).

    Notes:

    His school grades were not very good.
    He was a husman (tenant farmer) at West Balke farm
    Lived only to age 36, states Ione Cotter's info; inconsistent with dates of baptism, and birth of youngest child

    Johannes married Oline (Olive?) OLSDATTER 12 May 1832. Oline was born 1807. [Group Sheet]

    She was from Skramstad, Norway prior to marriag to Johannes
    her name perhaps Olive

    3. 1. Johan JOHANNESSEN was born 7 Apr 1841.
    4. Olaus JOHANNESSEN was born 12 Apr 1844, Ostre (East) Toten, Norway; died 17 Jul 1911.
    5. Carl JOHANNESSEN was born 24 Jan 1847.

    He was a husman (tenant farmer) and also served as a gragoon (Calvary) in the army in 1801

    Christian married Johanne ERICKSDATTER 24 Mar 1792. Johanne was born 1763. [Group Sheet]

    Notes:

    from Helgestad prior to marriage to Christian JOHANNESSEN
    died at an early age-children raised by Pernille Andersdatter
