Just another 15 minutes up the trail, Copper Creek is crossed. Several good camping spots can be found here. Just beyond the camping area, toward the southeast, I found a steep pile of mining slag. After hiking up sixty feet of gravel, I found one of the mining entrances. Interestingly, one of the creeks flowing by the camping area was coming from the mine shaft!
