I rested upon a rock near the lakeshore, admiring the beauty of the landscape. It was peacefully quiet. The silence was broken only by the occasional bird chirp. There were a few footprints in the snow around the lake, but nothing fresh. The track appeared to be two or three days old. I had the whole place to myself. The solitude was great.
