Eunice Lake / Tolmie Peak, Mt Rainier National Park, Oct 28, 2007 - Jan 1, 1970 page 20 / 20
I returned to the road at the lake, and spotted a vehicle. Its occupant was feeding the camp robbers from its window. Shortly after I saw the car, it slowly headed down the road. Apparently, this vehicle was driven by a park employee of some sort, for the gate was securely locked when I had begun my hike a few hours earlier.
Leisurely, I retraced my route down the hill, seeing only two other small parties. My trail software indicated that I had hiked just over eleven miles and gained 2700 feet. Very good. Perhaps I'll return this winter for some overnight camping!
