Lake of the Angels / Mt Stone '12, Olympic National Park, Aug 8, 2012 - Aug 10, 2012 page 4 / 80
We scrambled up the headwall, passed many more wildflowers, a couple of ponds and finally reached the National Park Boundary. Shortly afterward, we met a hiker descending from the lake. He said the sky was clear there. This was surprising, since we only had a few hundred feet more to climb and the sky was still quite overcast.
We continued, passed the last of the snowfields, worked our way up through a steep meadow, rounded the corner to the lake. Indeed, some sun was filtering through the broken clouds. Beautiful!
