Lake of the Angels / Mt Stone '12, Olympic National Park, Aug 8, 2012 - Aug 10, 2012 page 1 / 80
We had another wonderful opportunity to get into the hills recently. We returned to Lake of the Angels in Olympic National Park. I have hiked there several times, but Libby had never visited the area. She wanted the workout in preparation for climbing Mt Adams, so off we went.
Puget Sound was overcast, but the forecast was for improvement. We hit the trail mid-morning. The cool conditions made the steep hike rather pleasant.
The fog persisted for much of the afternoon, too. We stopped for a couple of well-deserved breaks, one at 3500 feet, right in the fog layer.
