The evening brought cooler temperatures. The skies remained clear. I awoke several times to watch the Perseid meteor shower. What a spectacular light show!

I awoke as the sun rose, typical of my sleep patterns. Unsuccessfully, I tried to go back to sleep. As I lay there, I heard a crashing sound through the brush. I sat up quickly, wondering what animals might be approaching. It was a couple of kids racing down the hill, followed by their mother. I quickly grabbed the camera from a nearby stuff sack and nabbed a few photos.
