Sol Duc, Olympic National Park, Aug 23, 2000 - Aug 24, 2000 page 1 / 5
We arrived from Lake Ozette at the Sol Duc Hot Springs campground about 1PM on Wednesday, the 23rd. The great douglas fir in the campground was very relaxing. We found a site which would work well for our two tents and began setting them up, along with preparing some lunch. After lunch we threw together some snacks and water in a backpack and headed up to the Sol Duc trailhead. We hiked the mile or so to the falls in a half hour or so. This area was all new to Libby and the kids, but I had been there years ago with Dad when hiking in the Seven Lakes Basin. I had forgotten just how beautiful the forest is here. I had also forgotten about the shelter next to the falls.
