Skyline Trail, Olympic National Park, Jul 12, 2005 - Jul 16, 2005 page 9 / 52
We climbed several hundred feet, then began a long descent, losing much of the elevation we had gained. We passed the Elip Creek trail junction in an hour or two and continued on to Three Prune shelter, stopping for a snack. The shelter is long gone; typical of the national park system. The structures of years past have eroded to the point that the park service often disassembles them for safety reasons. We speculated just where the old structure used to sit.
