That evening, almost immediately after the sun set, the fog began to lift. Peaks in all directions could be seen. A gentle breeze picked up. This was a great spot to be camped! The morning would bring even more great views.
As the sun began to light the sky the following morning, Tom and I awoke, almost simultaneously. We each sat up, and looked around at the great views. He quickly hopped out of his sleeping bag, grabbed his camera and took several morning photos, then returned to his bag. I opted to stay in my warm sleeping bag, but still gazed briefly at the peaks to the east.
