It was apparent that if I wanted to climb atop the summit block where I'd seen others standing, I would need to turn southward. The route would still take me across good rock, but it was also much more exposed. As a consequence, I decided to stop at the ridge.

I noted another summit block to the northwest. After I returned home and studied the map more closely, I found this one to be marked as the actual peak, though I only saw a couple of people on its top.
