While we didn't find more large wildlife, we did find a marmot. He was quick to announce our presence with a loud whistle. Usually a marmot will continue to holler until the perceived danger is past. This marmot only whistled a couple of times. Then he stood on his hind legs and watched us cautiously. As we slowly moved closer with the camera, he proceeded down the trail a bit, then on top of a rock. He stopped and posed for this fun photo.
