Libby and I have lived in Puget Sound now for twenty years. Even with all the hiking we've done in the northwest, we had never visited Rampart Lakes until the other day.

Western Washington was cloudy, but the eastern skies were clear as we began our hike at 11:00AM. The trail begins at 2700 feet, and follows Box Canyon Creek. For the first few miles, the creek is often within view, providing several nice spots to stop and enjoy it.
