It was early afternoon, and I didn't want to sit there all day, so I continued hiking. Perhaps an intriguing campsite might stand out. I went further down the trail, ultimately heading all the way out and driving home. It was Kevin's birthday, and I could make it home early enough to enjoy some birthday cake with him.

It was nice to get out, but somewhat disappointing. I was not able to get into the high country at all, the area I enjoy most. I'm sure it was best to play it safe, however. Perhaps I'll get out again in October.
