After breakfast, I broke camp and repacked my gear. It was less than a mile to Sixteen Mile, where I would ford the river. I reached the crossing point quickly. The trail, very abruptly, reached the river. It was apparent that the river channel was deepest right next to the trail. It was also easy to see that I would not be crossing at this location!
