Pyramid Peak,  Mt Rainier National Park,  September 29, 2008     page 7 / 23

The Tahoma Creek trail had not been maintained, but intersected the Wonderland Trail. The bridge had been kept up well for several years. However, a small sign on the bridge tower recommended that only one hiker cross the bridge at a time. Though I am not afraid of heights, this bridge was a bit concerning. I cautiously walked across the bridge, holding the cables with my hands and focusing on the far end of the structure. I crossed in no time. This bridge was very similar to the suspension bridge across the Carbon River, though this one may be longer, and certainly higher. This bridge also seemed more stable, bouncing less than the Carbon River bridge.

Having now traveled about 3.5 miles, I took a break. I rested in the cool shade and snacked on some trail mix.
