We decided early on that we would like to take a snorkeling trip. We made arrangements to boat over to Molokini Island on Monday morning. The island is what remains of a volcanic crater. The water on the north side of the island (inside the half crater) is protected and calm. It is also very clear and excellent for viewing dozens of kinds of fish! We boarded the boat in Maalea at 7:30 AM. The nine-mile trip took about an hour. During this time we were fed a modest continental breakfast.
