I walked further north until hitting the junction with the old trail. Apparently, the old trail from Copper Creek ran right across the western ridge of Buckhorn Mountain. While the trail has not been used much in recent years to get between Copper Creek and Marmot Pass, there were still portions of it faintly visible.
