That night was quite a bit cooler and moister. We were each able to sleep much easier. The bugs seemed a bit easier to deal with, as well.
Thursday Tom and I began the trip back. We headed down the hill, hitting the trail around 8AM. The air was still cool and some of the plants were covered with dew. We reached the "fording creek" at 10AM. With the air still cool, it didn't seem quite as refreshing as the first time we'd crossed. In fact, it was quite numbing!
