While Libby headed to the Oregon coast with her sisters, I took the opportunity to hike with my Dad. Initially, we chose an overnight trip to a high mountain lake, but after some research, we found the road and trail conditions there unsuitable. We quickly chose an alternative in the Columbia River Gorge. We proceeded up the Herman Creek trail in the Mark Hatfield Wilderness Area.
