I arrived at the junction with the Northern Loop trail at 12:15, just under two hours from the trailhead. I ate some lunch and contemplated my next move. I studied the map and found little elevation change was required to visit Berkeley Park, just 2.5 miles north. I decided to head that direction.

I entered the forest once again, finding a few good views along the way.
