We reached the ridge in early afternoon. We found some comfortable rocks to sit on while we ate our lunch. Dad tried to make radio contact using a borrowed 2-meter radio. This was not part of the radio contest, but a handy tool for communications should the weather have deteriorated. Incidentally, the weather was quite mild all afternoon.
