Flapjack Lakes '08, Olympic National Park, Oct 11, 2008 - Oct 12, 2008 page 4 / 36
I passed the Black and White Lakes trail junction. It was now just a steep half mile until reaching my destination for the night. I reached the lake around 3:30 PM. After inspecting several campsites, I selected one along the north shore of the eastern lake.
The pair of lakes sits in the shadow of the Sawtooth range, a craggy line of rugged peaks, popular with the rock climbing community. Only a little of the ridge could be seen from my camp area, so I wandered along the lakeshore for better views.
