I proceeded to the north, along the ridge. My plan was to eventually turn to the west, drop down into the Black and White Lakes and return to my campsite. I could see a few small lakes just west of the ridge ahead. I pulled out the binoculars to view the area in more detail. I immediately spotted a couple of bear in the rusty colored meadows below Mt. Henderson.
