The route continues up a large snowfield. Though I still hike through the fog, I can occasionally glimpse some blue sky overhead. The snowfield narrows once again, resulting in another short creek bed scramble. I concentrate on placing my feet and hands in safe, stable positions, so as to avoid injury. I briefly turn around to see that I have just reached the top of the scattered cloud layer.
