Mt Ellinor '03, Olympic National Park, May 30, 2003 page 1 / 7
Recently, my Dad and I got together for a day of hiking. We climbed Mt Ellinor in the southeast corner of the Olympic National park.
The day was cool and cloudy, though the forecast called for some afternoon sunshine. There was plenty of snow on the hill beginning around 4000 feet. This allowed us to follow the snow chute (winter route) nearly all the way to the summit. We estimated the summit to have 10-12 feet of snowpack.
