With summer-like weather upon us recently, my Dad and I felt the urge to hit the trail. I had several days off from work, so we decided to hike together in the Columbia River Gorge. Several great trails are scattered along the Oregon side of the River, providing year-round walks through the moss-covered forests. We decided to hike to Devil's Rest. We began at the Wahkeena Falls trailhead, about one-half mile west of the more popular Multnomah Falls.

Wahkeena Falls can be seen easily from the old Columbia River Highway. Hiking less than one-half mile up the hill allows one to stand in the spray of this beautiful creek.
