Carbon River, Mt Rainier National Park, May 30, 2001 page 1 / 10
Libby and I took off for the hills recently while the kids were in school. The weather was a bit questionable, so we returned to the north side of Mt. Rainier, up the Carbon River. The old growth forest where the trail begins is spectacular. The Carbon glacier reaches the lowest altitude of any glacier in the 48 states, making it straightforward to view without much effort.
