As the sun rose higher in the sky the clouds lifted. The sky overhead was clear there. The high north facing slopes all had fresh snow, for the weather had come from the north. The trail meandered in and out of forest and meadow, drenching my rain pants and gaiters with water as I walked. As I rounded the corner, I came to a point with a view down the valley. Puget Sound was socked in with low clouds. I glanced back up the valley for one last look at the landscape there.
