Marmot Pass '06, Buckhorn Wilderness Area, Jul 10, 2006 - Jul 11, 2006 page 22 / 48
I slept well that night, and woke to pleasant weather. I put on my boots, grabbed my camera and walked up to the ridge, just 150 feet away. The peaks all were glowing in the morning light. I took a few photos. Before leaving the ridge I spotted a bird nest, which was no more than four feet off the ground, in a small spruce tree. The birds had moved out, but their home remained. I returned to my camp, I ate a small breakfast, then proceeded north to climb Buckhorn Mountain.
