Bearhead Mtn, Snoqualmie National Forest, July 5, 2012 page 1 / 15
Anxious to get into the hills, Libby and I headed to Bearhead mountain with a couple of our Search and Rescue friends, Carolyn and Dan.
Bearhead mountain lies just north of the Mt Rainier National Park, in the Mt Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. Dan drove us up the rugged forest road to the 4400-foot trailhead. We began the trek in mid-morning on a snow-free trail.
We reached the fork at Twin Lake easily (1 mile, 4800'). The lake was still partially snowed in. We snapped a few photos and continued southward on and off of snow and trail.
