The next morning I woke early. It was still fairly dark. I glanced toward the Range and noticed a line of clouds over the mountains. This was not forecast, but I figured the clouds would burn off in the morning.

An hour later, the sun rose and the cloud deck I'd seen was now identifiable. It was a line of smoke from a forest fire. No wonder I'd been so congested all night!
