We continued our hike by 9:30AM. We proceeded around the west side of the lake, in a southerly direction, then turned east, alternately climbing snowfields and rock. As we rounded the peak near our lake, we could see the remainder of Mt. Pulitzer, an impressive steep, narrow ridge. Its north face was covered with quite a bit of snow. Pulitzer glacier is pretty much extinct now, but its location was easily determined, replaced by a large snowfield. The snowmelt from this field feeds and maintains Pulitzer Lake below.
