We considered hiking further along the trail to visit Cougar Lakes. With the heavy snow cover still being an issue, though, we changed our plans. Instead, we would hike to the ridge south of the lake. From there we could get a great view of Cougar Lakes. After some breakfast, we wandered through the brush, quickly reaching open snowfields. We followed these snowfields to the ridge gaining a beautiful view of the landscape.
